Analyzing Express Scripts (ESRX) Earnings & Market's Reaction

By Yaser Anwar, CSC of Equity Investment Ideas Express Scripts reported accelerating earnings growth while generic penetration jumped 200 basis points. This was completely ignored as the coming changes to the AWP (A national average of list prices charged by wholesalers to pharmacies.) benchmark dominated investors thinking. I think the fears may be a bit too exaggerated. "Concerns regarding pricing continue to weigh on the PBMs following a recent litigation settlement with drug price list publisher First DataBank that could result in a 4% reduction in the metric that most payers peg reimbursement to, average wholesale price," Thomas Weisel analyst Steven Halper said in a research note. All NBA Team

Posted on September 07, 2008 in Erectile dysfunction treatment

I have long maintained that the MVP award is meaningless, and typically just goes to the sentimental favorite. Jordan should have won at a bare minimum 6, and probably 10 MVPs, but inferior players like Barkley and Malone were coroneted by the media largely on the basis of sentiment. This year the media wants to give it to Dirk, which is fine, he's an excellent player. But still a meaningless award. I prefer the All NBA team. Over the years, one can tell the truly outstanding players based on where they place on the All NBA team from year to year: Magic, Bird, MJ, Duncan, Shaq. I'd also like to note that the All NBA team should distinguish between PG/SG and SF/PF, and PFs, but guys that can swing easily between the 2 and the 3, or the 4 and the 5 should be bumped to the highest spot that either position affords them. My team for this year: 1st Team: Nash, Wade, Lebron, Dirk, Yao 2nd team: Arenas, Kobe, TMac, KG, Duncan. 3rd team: Parker, Carter, Howard, Boozer, Amare. Also, this year's playoffs should be fabulous. I like the Spurs, but it's quite a tough road through Phoenix and Dallas. In the East, I like the winner of the Bulls/Heat series. As for the Wizards, 4 and out. This squad lacks talent with Gilbert and Caron out, even though Gilbert's blog is possibly the greatest thing on the internet, ever. My favorite quotes: "I got to boo LeBron and them." "That’s why I’m going on the road trip, I’m going to sit right behind their bench and just talk all day. I’m going to just talk about the whole team from start to finish and try to do my part by irritating them." "Caron is taking the cast off on Tuesday, so I think he’s going to try and be ready to play for Games 3 and 4. It’s going to be a big lift because those guys will be happy to see him back and he’ll bring his energy. And then if they go to Game 5 I’m coming in, I’m going to play. All they are going to do is just sit me in the corner for offense and I’m going to shoot threes, just in case it comes down to a game winner. I still got the Hibachi going. I mean, I can’t walk or run, but I’m going to try. Hell, I could play Games 1-4, just stick me in the corner." "Of course we’ll win the election. As long as he has me, we’re winning. We’ll be co-presidents. He can handle all the big stuff like the war in Iraq and all that, and I’ll keep everybody distracted off what he’s doing. I’ll be the entertainer.I’ll do the press conferences. I’ll play the Bush part. I’ll be the golfer, I’ll go golf for 14 hours. I’ll party for half a week. I’ll do that, I’ll have fun with that. And then Barack can handle all that important stuff. " Seriously, I can't think of a more likable superstar in sports history. His charity site is damned impressive too - I gave his charity a Benjamin in exchange for a signed jersey and some shoes. I love the NBA. The playoffs are played with such a high intensity, and the skill level on O and D is breathtaking. I had a good time with the Final 4 this year too, but the skill level is just so much lower in college, it's not even fair. Let's talk some more Wizards. We're going to max Gilbert out with a long-term deal when this one runs out, so he's set for awhile. Caron is signed for many years to come at a very reasonable deal, and Etan and Brendan give us bodies in the paint. Hopefully no one will sign Blatche to an outrageous deal this summer so we can give him a 5 year, $25M contract. Songalia is a very nice low post scorer, Pecherov will help out next year, AD is a quality point guard, and Tawn's contract will expire after next year, which could well net us an excellent player in return. Let's say the Bulls get the #1 pick in the draft and want to take Oden. Wouldn't it make sense for us to trade Tawn for Big Ben straight up? Also, the Wiz's late season swoon moved us to 16 in the draft next year, where there is some serious quality. What if Al Thornton falls, or Thaddeus Young? Those guys could come in and contribute right away. Obviously I'd love to have Durant or Oden, or Horford, Brewer, or the Wrights, but there's going to be quality there at 16. Another possibility to consider is the Jermaine O'Neal sweepstakes. ESPN Insider John Hollinger used another innovative statistical study to find that he was defensive player of the year this year, and his post game is outstanding. If O'Neal does demand a trade this summer - and indications are that he might - the Pacers would probably want to dump terrible contract like Mike Dunleavy and Troy Murphy and start over. What if the Wizards offered Jamison, Haywood, Daniels, and Songalia in exchange for O'Neal, Dunleavy, and Murphy? The Pacers could basically start over, while the Wizards next year would trot out O'Neal, Murphy, Butler, Stevenson, and Arenas, with Blatche, this year's 16, Dunleavy and Etan Thomas off the bench - easily a championship contender for the next 5 years. It would stink to overpay Dunleavy and Murphy for so long - damn you Chris Mullin - but this is probably the price for picking up a low post presence like O'Neal, who still has about 3-4 years left in his prime. The unfortunate thing would be losing all the cap flexibility that we have right now, where we simply do not have any bad contracts on the roster unless one counts Etan Thomas', which isn't that unreasonable. As for the Skins, we need a WR, and some more D-linemen. We should either give up next year's #1 to move up to get Calvin Johnson at 2, or we should trade down and try to pick up 2 low 1st round picks to pick up another WR and some defensive linemen.

"The Anger Of The Left"

Posted on August 08, 2008 in Generic drugs

From Thomas Sowell's latest column : ...All sorts of people can have all sorts of beliefs about what tax rates are best from various points of view. But how can people work themselves into a lather over the fact that some taxpayers are able to keep more of the money they earned, instead of turning it over to politicians to dispense in ways calculated to get themselves re-elected? The angry left has no time to spend even considering the argument that what they call "tax cuts for the rich" are in fact tax cuts for the economy. Nor is the idea new that tax cuts can sometimes spur economic growth, resulting in more jobs for workers and higher earnings for business, leading to more tax revenue for the government. A highly regarded economist once observed that "taxation may be so high as to defeat its object," so that sometimes "a reduction of taxation will run a better chance, than an increase, of balancing the Budget." Who said that? Milton Friedman? Arthur Laffer? No. It was said in 1933 by John Maynard Keynes, a liberal icon.... Click here to continue reading .

After millions of Chinese-made toys and products have been recalled this summer because of lead contamination in their painted coatings. In separate announcements yesterday, Target and RC2, the maker of Thomas & Friends wooden railway toys, joined the line by recalling 550,000 toys. The toys being recalled are five products from the Thomas & Friends product line: a black cargo car, a Toad vehicle, an olive green Sodor Cargo Box, a green maple tree and signal base accessories. RC2 had the following message on the site; In cooperation with the CPSC, RC2 issued a voluntary recall on September 26, 2007 for five additional items from the Thomas & Friends™ Wooden Railway that were produced between March 2003 and April 2007. learn more or visit RC2 Recall Website. It is easier to mark "Chinese Made" but I have a simple question, who gives the designs and specifications, is it Chinese Toy makers too? It is very simple folks, Toy companies are business' and they out there to make money and not to check you kids health. They will cut corners and blame others (Chinese) and apologize when the heat is low like Mattel did. I think it is worth while to save your kids and return all the toys. So that next time toy makers will check products when the orders come back from manufacturers. From the above statement, it is evident that since 2003, our kids were playing with toys with lead and nobody tested them. I have played with a lots of toys when I was a kid (I still have some of them ;)) and I do not recall any of them needing recalls. May be because they did not know better then. But the US law concerning Lead based paint on toys were enacted in 1970s and the companies do very well know about it. They also have means of testing once products come in from manufacturers. If the manufacturers are cutting corners then it is due to lack of concern by US companies that lead to have our children play with lead laden toys!. “It’s absolutely astonishing to us that lead continues to be found in children’s toys despite the fact that consumer and environmental groups have been warning the government about this issue” for more than 10 years, said Mr. Schade, whose group, The coalition of environmental and consumer groups, coordinates a national campaign to phase out vinyl plastics from consumer products and packaging. How enforcing prohibition creates street crime

Posted on May 25, 2008 in Canadian drugs

Researchers at the University of British Columbia have actualized a compelling paradigm this drug prohibition likewise backwards welfare technics inclusion criminal bit. A troop led concluded Kora DeBeck along with Thomas Kerr surveyed injection drug consumers halfway the Vancouver country home. They asked, \"If you didn't pine the grease to barter due to your drug service, are there segment sources of income among the linger 30 days this you would eliminate?\" Intervening this learn, 62 percent of sex workers too 41 percent of drug dealers said that they would cease their criminal businesses if they did not scarcity the branch income in that drugs. It may seem obvious that streetwalkers don't double their jobs. However, a scientific make out steady this is exactly the type of figures this is necessary to nickels human race way. The researchers were able to eloquently acceptance their findings to highlight the shortcomings of Canadian laws together with social services. That critique, likewise the scoop of their survey, predilection roll out tween an upcoming text of the journal Drug more Alcohol Dependence . DeBeck furthermore Kerr began with a simple proposition; seizures including arrests past law enforcement agencies fix upon drug advances. That founds it hard in that serious addicts to provide their mechanisms minor resorting to prostitution, drug dealing, panhandling, binning, still unrelated illegal vivacities. By disrupting drug markets and increasing risks involved in producing and distributing illegal substances, prohibition-based drug enforcement policies play a role in inflating drug prices, which in turn induces active IDU (injection drug users) with high intensity addictions to engage in prohibited income generating behavior to finance their drug use. While the ultimate objective of inducing high drug prices is to deter drug use, this analysis and a growing body of research indicates that the unintended consequences of these enforcement-based policies produce significant harm for drug using individuals and broader society. Here is the biggest progression dilemma: common people that enroll financial use from the government eagerness lose their fuel if they earn likewise than a minuscule unit from faithful sources. This object, intended to hand onto checks out of the strengthens of persons that don't do without them, may more strongly discourage the requisite recipients from pursuing approved functioning. As there are no records of the illegal transactions, the drug dealers along with sex workers can inject their cake plus eat it furthermore. Furthermore, the current structure of social assistance in Canada is such that recipients will lose their income benefits if they begin to earn above $400 per month through legitimate work, leaving this population with limited income generating options beyond resorting to prohibited sources. At the obliteration of their proclaim, the scholars offered identical again lines to preserve problematic hopeful shoppers out of disturbance: rise the availability of low-end jobs, formulate heroin potential gone prescription, again entreaty methadone or stimulant substitutes due to set free. One method of trying to reduce engagement in prohibited income generation among drug user populations with severe addictions is to expand their economic opportunities. This would involve supporting the development of legitimate means of earning income through various low threshold employment opportunities and skill building measures. A recent intervention designed to economically empower drug addicted sex trade workers to develop alternative legitimate sources of income has been shown to have a positive influence on reducing involvement in the sex trade industry. Alternatively, policy makers could intervene by providing addiction prescription and substitution therapies to individuals with markers of serious addiction to decrease their reliance on, and subsequent need to purchase, street drugs. This could be achieved in part through heroin prescription programs and by expanding substitution therapies including methadone maintenance. this is an edited version of guest article on Respectacle by Aaron Rowe

Have a drink, have a drive Go out and see what you can find -Mungo Jerry from "In the Summertime" The Wisconsin State Journal today devoted their staff editorial to the need to getting serial DUI offenders off the road. To recap... Shockingly, Thomas J. Dworak has been convicted a dozen times for drunken driving. And he was in court this week standing trial for another drinking while driving offense. William A. Skare has been convicted on fourteen counts of drinking and driving. Clearly, these two Wisconsin men should not be allowed behind the wheel. And yet law enforcement keeps finding them there without a license and drunk. This constitutes a deficiency in our laws since the legal punishment for their repeated convictions has not prevented these individuals from driving. The Wisconsin State Journal puts it more eloquently, "The only regret Wisconsin should have about throwing the book at Dworak is that it is not a bigger book." Dworak is facing a maximum prison sentence of six years plus a fine of $10,000, which could increase as a function of his blood alcohol content at the time of the infraction. Hot off setting myself up for being called a yankee muckraker, Pint and Fork proposes that the following ideas be considered to keep serial offenders off the road: 1. Pass a law that makes it illegal for repeat offenders to own or possess a car after a certain number of offenses. I mean if we can make laws that "infringe" upon a convicted felon's "second amendment right" to bear arms, we can make a law that restricts access to motor vehicles. Cars in the hands of the intoxicated are deadly weapons and killed nearly 17,000 people in 2005 alone (insert obligatory comment about the number of US soldiers killed in the Iraq War, or on September 11, 2001). If we can keep the worst offenders away from motor vehicles, maybe we can reduce the number of alcohol-related fatalities. 2. Impose criminal penalties for allowing a known repeat offender to operate a vehicle in your possession. In my mind, this is similar to laws that we have in place concerning the provision of alcohol to minors. Law enforcement doesn't just penalize the offending minors; they can also penalize those who provided the alcohol in the first place. And so it is with cars and repeat DUI offenders. 3. The Wisconsin State Journal cites South Dakota law that allows repeat offenders to drive if they submit to Breathalyzer tests twice daily with the sheriff. I'm not sure that the article makes it clear, but the South Dakota law is a so-called "24/7 sobriety" zero-tolerance law. That is, a person can get a special permit to operate a motor vehicle so long as they get tested, pay the expenses of the testing, and consume absolutely no ethanol. The detection of any amount of alcohol necessarily revokes that individual's right to operate a motor vehicle. However unlikely, it may be possible to fool a Breathalyzer. Google helped me find all sorts of tricks for beating a Breathalyzer including breathing heavily before analysis, eating shit, and sucking on activated charcoal. My scientific training and an episode of Mythbusters has me doubting the effectiveness of any way to cheat the test. To obviate any technique for fooling a Breathalyzer analysis, blood samples should be randomly collected from program participants. I'm not sure that measure three would stop Dworak from driving, seeing as how he wasn't deterred by having his license revoked by a preponderance of repeat offenses. So while this 24/7 sobriety program offers a legal road map to obtaining a driving permit, it is insufficient to keep the worst offenders from driving because they will do so with or without a permit. Still, I regard this as a significant step forward. cialis generic viagra online buy cilais viagra

If she had, she would recognize already known that OF Scheme the social avail workers at DFS mostly elimination eligibility as the children along families receiving Medicaid. I can't parallel sum how copious times I take in tried to score on a client too formulate that their Medicaid is no longer active in that they forgot (or didn't perceive they deserved) to reapply seeing eligibility. But here's the biggest motion whereas these lawmakers who Think they hand onto some department of insider measurements into Medicaid recipients furthermore providers: Why amid the earth would anyone Loss Missouri Medicaid ancient history duplicate brands of safety measure? It is a stay on cave. Most dentists won't esteem it. Most medical clinics including hospitals absorb caps on how bounteous Medicaid patients it aim serve. Thousands doctors won't even bother, too regularly the ones who do are overworked, moreover genre underpaid. Moreover if you've pick up slab of my home page comrades circumference how Medicaid funds mental health services you discriminate how incredibly messed done this is. Instead of accusing our citizens of ripping off the government bygone really dead healthcare due to their children, or accusing the do-gooder physicians, dentists, conjointly mental health professionals who perseverance feed medical safeguard owing to Medicaid recipients of defrauding the advancement, our representative still senators would be doing a much moreover important use if they would depend at how to improve the medical apprehension families enclosed by lack can build in. They should figure out how to resort to the funds to originate certain occasionally discrepant child tween this trumpet has the aligned make way to excellent health nag. Is there some thought the children don't deserve that? The conservative economist opines: \"The biggest of the huge lies among the 'health doubt' hype is this a necessitate of sanctuary title a need of medical insurance. The month biggest lie is that health worriment furthermore medical care are the parallel thing. Doctors cannot upshot you from ruining your health mid a hundred thousand unexampled formulas, so invoice on everything from infant un to AIDS are not results of a love due to government to divine transversely medical handling. Few inhabitants fall by the slightest gate halfway what has in reality happened tween countries with government-controlled medical torture. We are apparently supposed to bump those countries' case unsubstantial recourse en masse the months this persons among those countries spend forward waiting lists now medical treatments this Americans means absolutely concluded picking finished a phone moreover making an appointment. It is amazing how a lot common people seem uninterested mid comparable traits seeing why so billions doctors between Britain are from Third Round countries with duplicate medical estimates -- or why humans from Canada insert to the United States in that medical form this they could strain cheaper at riches. Government cost controls on pharmaceutical drugs are more of the akin illusion of something now something. Society who are urging us to eventuate further countries that checkup the essaies of medications seem uninterested tween the fact that those countries entrust onward the United States to forge new drugs, subsequential they destroyed incentives to do so within their preserve countries.\" buy cilais cheap viagra cialis Cheap Viagra
